KIC China Holds "4th Meeting for Youth Start-ups in Beijing, Ministry of Science and ICT"

On September 14, KIC China (Center Director Ko Young-hwa) hosted the 4th Beijing Youth Start-up Meeting of the Ministry of Science and ICT, hosted by the Korean Embassy in China, Lee Seung-won, and prospective founders.

The youth start-up meeting is held every six months to listen to the current status of startups in Beijing, difficulties and suggestions made by the government. The first meeting was started in May 2016 by Hong Nam-ki, former deputy chief of the Cabinet Office, and the second meeting was held in August 2016 and the third was held in March 2017.

In the discussion, Ikualki's Park Hwi-bong, CEO of 4STEC Seungwon Lee, adviser Hwang Eui-chun of WiseFN Partners, IORA's Lee Han-soo, Pongpong's Yoon Ju-cheol, Chairman Park Ji-min of the Peking Federation of Korean Students, and Chairman Kim Ji-wan of Peking University.

Park Hui-bong, head of Ikualki's headquarters, stressed the importance of core competitiveness, saying, "China is smoothly attracting investment from Beijing University's Pangjeong Group, probably because it has core competitiveness."

Park Ji-min, chairman of the Peking Federation of Korean Students, asked, "Please increase startup internship opportunities for third- to fourth-grade students and hold low-level start-up competitions often in cooperation with BAT and Chinese financial companies."
