Eastsoft won the grand prize at the 15th Korea Software (SW) Enterprise Competitiveness Awards. Noble System won the grand prize in the category of job creation and Lotte Information and Communication won the grand prize in the category of strengthening corporate capabilities.
At the awards ceremony held at El Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on the 24th, Eastsoft received the grand prize for various evaluations such as human resources, technology, market value, internationalization, and finance. It also won an award for excellence of leading companies in each issue. The event was co-hosted by the Korea SW Industry Association, Yonsei University's Knowledge Information Research Center, SW Deduction Association, and Electronic Newspaper and sponsored by the Ministry of Science, ICT. It has been in effect since 2001.
The best awards by industry were awarded by Oracle, Brain's Square, Hyundai Information Technology, Gaon Eye, and Atori Search. The best awards were awarded by Foestech, Daeshin Information and Communication, Emfrontier, Danuon, and Access. The Noble System was selected for the job creation and Vertex ID was selected for the best prize. Lotte Information and Communication received the grand prize and Brain's Square won the grand prize.
The special awards included Nuritellicom for Outstanding Overseas Enterprises, Lotte Information and Communication for Outstanding Employee Capability, Eastsoft for Leading Companies by Issue, and Nalji Cube for Outstanding Employee Satisfaction.
The evaluation applied a SW company specialized evaluation system developed by Yonsei University's Knowledge Information Research Center. It analyzed the top 16 companies out of 448 companies that participated in the preliminary evaluation. The corporate resource sector averaged 53.01 points, up 2.81 points from a year earlier. As a result of analysis of SW competitiveness over 15 years, corporate resource area averaged 51.51 points. Growth rates continued to rise and fall slightly every year. Competitiveness and growth rate of SW industry did not progress as expected to revitalize SW industry.
Lim Chun-sung, a professor of information industry engineering at Yonsei University who is the chairman of the jury, said, "Objective diagnosis and evaluation of industries and companies is important for SW industry growth and proper investment." Choi Woo-hyuk, head of SW Industry Division at the Ministry of Future Affairs, said, "We will find and award excellent SW companies to contribute to the development of industries."
Since its foundation in 1993, Eastsoft has included convenience, joy, and safety in its SW. I focused on making a better life. It obtained 39 patents and carried out 40 large-scale R&D projects.
"Al Tools" such as Aljip, Alcsi, and Alsong has secured more than 25 million users in South Korea. In recognition of its security performance, the vaccine program pill ranked first in the market for open vaccines in South Korea.
'Internet Disk' has established technical standards by commercializing web storage services. It was supplied to 300 companies, universities, and public institutions. It also introduced 'Secure-Disk' which is a solution to centralize documents and block leakage of internal information.
"Carval Online," an online game released in 2005, is still popular in 60 countries. "Carval 2," which started its official service in December 2012, will have overseas services such as North America and Europe.
"We will secure future growth engines and enter overseas markets through continuous development of new products and investment in new projects for a long time," said Chung Sang-won, CEO of Eastsoft.
The Noble system performs human-centered research and development. It researched and developed mobile Internet phones that reduce telecommunication fees in the 2000s. It also filed related patents.
In 2007, it operated an import agency shopping mall called "Noble Goods" to realize the price of imported products in the domestic market. In 2013, it developed and provided open source-based enterprise resource management (ERP) for small and medium enterprises. It has evolved into a big data analysis and visualization technology company since 2014.
Lee Hee-seok, CEO of Noble System, said, "We will develop it into a future technology that predicts future society and economic phenomena by using big data technology that predicts future."
Lotte Information and Communication (ICT) is a company that helps advance IT and improve efficiency. Based on basic businesses such as system integration, system management, security, and IT consulting, it will actively promote new businesses such as big data, cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), and omnichannel.
It has implemented quality management through international certification such as ISO 20000, 27001, and 50001. It has been recognized for its advanced technology, including the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning at major information communication infrastructure conferences, the Ministry of Human Resources Innovation at the Public Officials Pension Service, and the Seoul Mayor's Award for Energy Saving, Production and Efficiency.
